CompTIA SecurityX (CAS-005) addresses the advanced cybersecurity responsibilities performed by security architects, engineers, and senior practitioners in complex enterprise environments. It is intended for professionals who design security programs, integrate controls across hybrid infrastructure, and make technical decisions that balance risk, resilience, compliance, and operational requirements.

The curriculum centers on governance, risk, and compliance, security architecture, security engineering, and security operations. Participants work through advanced challenges such as designing resilient security frameworks, evaluating architectural tradeoffs, implementing cryptographic solutions, integrating security into DevSecOps pipelines, and coordinating threat hunting and incident response across enterprise systems. The emphasis is on applying security principles under real operational constraints rather than reviewing foundational concepts in isolation.

SecurityX is designed for experienced professionals with approximately ten years of IT experience, including at least five years in hands-on cybersecurity roles. For organizations, the training helps develop senior staff who can translate business and regulatory requirements into technical architecture, guide engineering decisions, and lead security initiatives across complex environments. It can also support workforce development for government and defense roles aligned with advanced Department of Defense cybersecurity requirements.
