CompTIA Linux+ (XK0-006) develops the practical administration skills required to manage Linux across physical, virtual, cloud, containerized, and hybrid environments. It is designed for IT professionals expanding into Linux responsibilities and organizations that rely on Linux-based systems as part of their infrastructure.

The training covers system management, services and user administration, security, automation and scripting, and troubleshooting. Participants work primarily from the command line while building experience with the Linux boot process, storage, package management, permissions, service configuration, system hardening, shell scripting, Python, Ansible, and container platforms such as Docker and Podman. Troubleshooting is addressed throughout, with an emphasis on isolating faults, identifying root causes, and restoring services efficiently.

Linux administrators, systems administrators, support professionals, and infrastructure staff with approximately one year of Linux experience will find the content most relevant. Knowledge aligned with CompTIA A+, Network+, or Server+ can also provide a useful starting point. For organizations, Linux+ training helps establish consistent administration, security, and automation practices across servers, virtual machines, cloud platforms, and containerized workloads.
